This has become our every weekend breakfast place. Staff are extremely friendly and food always excellent

One word, perfect. Take your kids, your family, your family's family and your pups. Amazing food, unmatched service. Best breakfast in east county hands down.

This place is cute, food is pretty good and friendly service. However, they're a little pricey.

I had the breakfast special. Service was good, food was good. I asked for additional bernaise sauce for my eggs bebedict and it was delivered promptly and without extra cost. Watching flight operations while you have breakfast was an added bonus. Portion size was average. Coffee was good.

Was great food, massive serving sizes, and decent pricing! I'll definitely be heading here more often after my morning flights.

Go here often, the food is always good! and if you get here before 9am, They have early bird specials that are a great deal. The service is always good as well.

This is our second time being here. It's always a great atmosphere for the kids to be able to watch the planes take off while eating their food. The prices are good and the food has always been delicious. I loved that they brought out the pancakes in the shape of a Mickey head, and that was without prompting from us. The blueberry pancakes were loaded with blueberries which was very nice as my kids love fruit! The staff has always been very friendly and we have never had to wait long for anything, even refills. Definitely something I highly recommend for anyone who is in the area. Even as an adult, we loved getting to sit outside and watch the planes take off and pull in to park. Can't beat the experience!

This place was packed on a Saturday. If you don't know about this place, you won't know where it is because it's tucked back in an industrial area sharing a fence with Gillespie field. The breakfasts looked delicious but I went with the pastrami sandwich cuz it was lunch time. The sandwich was good and the iced tea was cold

Cute place, great to take little ones who love planes! Super good food, I'm always full when I leave and the prices are nice.

Great food served with a smile. This morning I sat inside but they also have a nice dining area outside. I love the food here and it is served hot, like it should be. The staff is friendly and they keep your drinks filled. It is nice to see the planes take off and land with the hills and blue skies as a backdrop.

3 stars for effort and location. Homely feel and very friendly staff. However, it isn't the smiles and awesome background noises of planes landing or taking off that you digest into your bellies.The food is merely heat and serve. I stuck to the basic Eggs and Potatoes with a biscuit (after confirming they use 'instant grits'). Eggs over-easy are more 'brown and just under crispy' and the potatoes are too greasy to give a crunch. I don't blame the staff, I blame the times and lack of awareness. Perhaps the local standards are just this low but a few mods to the prepping (homemade biscuits, real grits and attention to eggs) would serve much improvement. We won't get into the Veggie Sandwich swimming in mayonnaise and bread similar to the end of a stack of Wonder White stuck in a warm plastic bag...This place could be a gem and to many it is just that. I hope they can find a way to polish the edges because this would be a great place to meet my clients for local business relations.

Long overdue review, I've visited this place several times (with people I work with). Waitresses are just great, the new young lady is great also. Always clean, in and outside seating. Great view of small planes and private jets coming in and out. It's a really neat cafe! The FOOD is yummy, tasteful and nice sided portions. The prices are decent and affordable! I totally recommend Gillespie Field Cafe for a quick bit to eat, it's comfortable and has a calm atmosphere!

It's no frills diner food. It's a little out of the way unless you work or fly from the airport.

This cafe is great! They have a patio where you can enjoy the fresh air or you can dine inside. Either way you have a delightful view. The food is delicious and the service is courteous and quick! Excellent venue for a work day lunch. Enjoy!

A great hidden breakfast spot with the view of Gillespie Field. I love the Eggs Benedict with hash browns (if you ask they will give you extra hollandaise sauce for the hash browns).

Always delicious. More and more busy as Santee crowds up with the new housing. If you go on the weekend go early. Everybody is nice. Family owned and the family is always there.

Awesome breakfast! New find for our family even though it’s been here forever. The staff is excellent! The servers are so sweet and great waitresses. The cooks are fast. Very pleased to find a new mom and pop breakfast joint in town

The food was good and the service was excellent. The issue was my girlfriend and I went and we were just out of place. We are both minorities and felt uncomfortable at this predominantly white local.

Great food. Love the atmosphere, and the staff. They can be a little slow sometimes but with minimal staff that is expected. Highly recommended for breakfast! Try the Steak and Eggs.

I have been here many times and usually the service is great and the food very good. Today the chili served with the sandwich to us was cold. Even when after it was reheated, it still wasn't hot. I'm giving five stars not only for them providing us a free bowl of chili to go, but especially the owner coming out personally to deliver it with a sincere apology.

The pancakes were so good! There is also an early bird special and you sit next to the planes. If you have any littles they would enjoy this place and being so close to the planes

Room with a view. Airport activity . Small town feel, hard to get anywhere else around here. You may feel a little like a tourist if aviation isn't your thing but it's worth it. Can get crowded with after church crowd late sunday mornings.

Place is pretty solid for breakfast food. Pancakes, eggs, and bacon were all good. My partner like his chicken fried steak and potatoes and said the coffee is good. And you really can't beat that view of the planes! I'm giving it a solid 4 for its breakfast diner food and an extra star for the view.
